Translation is the process during which the translator interprets and analyzes all the features of the source text. This activity requires in-depth knowledge of the grammar, semantics, syntax, idioms and the like of the source language. The translator needs to have even deeper knowledge in order to re-encode the meaning in the target language. For this reason, most translators are native in the target language (with the exception of a bilingual).
Editing is the process during which the editor refines the translated text by checking the writing style and glossary terminology as well as the style specifications (if provided by the client). The editor makes sure that the translation does not read like a transliteration, but reads as if it was originally written in the target language.
Proofreading is the process during which the third native speaker of the target language reviews the edited text and makes sure that all terms are consistent and the final product is according to the style provided by the client
*Please note that we offer certified translation via Notary Public for all documents that need to be used officially.
