Subtitling

Subtitling is the process of textual versions of the dialog in films and television programs, usually displayed at the bottom of the screen.

The most frequent form of subtitling is used in cinematography. For example, if you would like to see a foreign film produced and directed by Frederico Fellini or Pedro Almodovar, then you would need English subtitling in order to be able to understand the Italian and Spanish languages.
